In our installations we also produce sand cores, which are sometimes needed for the casting process.

The sand cores prevent cavities in the part, so a precise fit is as important for quality as the pattern and mold production and casting  itself.

For the production of cores we count with the following equipment:

• 2 Larramendi brand trigger machines for cold box process
  • 1 for automated production.
  • 1 for manual production.
• 1 tool for hot box processing

Before putting the silica sand in the box, it is mixed with resin (Friodur) and amine (for hardening) according to the needs of the cores.

Larger and more complicated sand cores are produced manually, as the series are smaller.

Both processes guarantee a very low emission of gases and no unpleasant odors are produced.
