HOW IT ALL STARTED
Our History
1966
Estaban Junquera, father of the founder of Cofundi, sets up a workshop for the manufacture of dies and molds, taking advantage of the knowledge acquired at the Palencia arms factory.

1980
Esteban Junquera buys an aluminum casting furnace in order to test the molds that were manufactured in his company
1982
Many customers begin to request that their orders are casted in this workshop since he has an oven. It is the beginning of the transformation in his foundry.

1992
The great crisis suffered in Spain deeply affects Esteban Junquera's company, leading it to bankruptcy.
1995
His son Jon Junquera, with the remains of the shipwreck and focusing on casting aluminum in coquilla by gravity, founded the company Cofundi

His son Jon Junquera, using the wreckage his father’s company had left behind and focusing on gravity die casting of aluminum, founds the company Cofundi.
2010
The crisis in 2008 again deeply affects Cofundi, leading it to make drastic decisions to reduce business and staff after facing a fall of nearly 80% in sales.

Once this restructuring process is overcomed, an export strategy is initiated, which today accounts for 50% of our turnover

The strategic decision of horizontal growth is made. The Company Cumetooling is created and dedicated to the manufacture of molds and tools

The company Traterga dedicated to the machining of parts and heat treatments is created

Fes Norte S.L. is created, dedicated to industrial maintenance and retrofitting of second hand machinery, mainly in the foundry sector

Cofundi faces the Covid-19 crisis with optimism. We are confident that it will soon bring a river of opportunities for our business. Our debt is very low. We enjoy good liquidity reserves and have a panel of customers and suppliers who trust us.
